IEEE Industry Applications Society enables the advancement of theory and practice in the design, development, manufacturing, and application of safe, sustainable, reliable, smart electrical systems, equipment, and services.
If your engineering interests are the needs of the industrial or commercial sector, the Industry Applications Society (IAS) will be a valuable professional connection. One of the largest special interest societies within IEEE, the IAS focuses specifically on the unique needs of industry and commerce. The society keeps members abreast of current developments in the area of technology in electricity and electronics. IAS enriches both its members and the industry as a whole through the sharing of specific industry-related solutions.
WIE is the largest international professional group dedicated to promote women engineers and scientist. The idea is to provide the young women with a platform, encouragement and inspiration to come up with confidence and excellence in the technical career of Engineering.
WIE is an effort to motivate the women to be a part of science, technology and engineering by bringing all men and women with such ambitions to put a joint effort towards this.
The IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) promotes the advancement of microwave theory and its applications, including RF, microwave, mm-wave, and terahertz technologies. The activities sponsored by the MTT-S include a broad spectrum of conferences, workshops, tutorials, technical committees, chapter meetings, publications, and professional education programs.
Up to 10 Undergraduate Scholarships are offered by MTT society for $1500 may be granted semi-annually to assist BS and MS students in electrical engineering. IEEE MTT-S also hosts webinars that include topics such as device modeling, circuit design to 5G Systems, and bio-sensors.
Special Interest Group-Embedded Programming(SIG-Embedded) was established in January 2011 by IEEE Student Branch, DAIICT. Embedded Systems are the true products and testaments of ICT for which our institute has been the pioneer.
Embedded programming is a specific type of programming that supports the creation of consumer-facing or business-facing devices that don't operate on traditional operating systems. Embedded Systems have always captured the imaginations of students in DAIICT.
SIG Mobile Applications is a group of enthusiasts for developing mobile applications, especially Android apps. SIG Mobile conducts regular sessions every week wherein we try to cover the basics of Android app development.
Talks by people working in industry, app competitions, and project mentoring and special talks on Android products are some of the other activities.
This special interest group aims at bringing closer artificial intelligence and machine learning enthusiasts together to collaborate on projects and at the same time create an environment that is healthy for the new-comers in the field of machine intelligence.
MI-SIG plans to begin exciting group projects with a mentor assigned to each group. This will help the students get a hold of the subject matter by putting their theoretical knowledge into practical use.
IEEE SIGHT is a global network of groups consisting of IEEE members and volunteers who identify and address local problems by applying their technical skills and partnering with the local communities to leverage technology for sustainable development.
